Heath Claiborne Genre: Water Color Although Heath Claiborne works in a variety of mediums, watercolor is his favorite, and most of the pieces in this online gallery were produced in transparent watercolor. Rotating dozens of hake brushes and five gallon buckets of water to preserve color purity, layer after layer of of thin washes create the incredible luminosity of Heath's paintings. While the bulk of his work is generally rooted in realism, perhaps the most facinating aspect of Heath's art is his broad range of styles. Viewers are often surprised that such an ecclectic body of work was produced by the same artist. The Heath Claiborne Gallery is located in the heart of downtown Maryville in the historic Capitol Theatre.
